Here are some of the basic items presented in the show “Chicken Little”. Any new vocabulary which is essential for understanding the story is pre-taught, usually through mime or TPR and then consolidated with translation. Remember that the show is interactive and the kids themselves perform in the show, but besides this our shows also have a deliberately repetitive pantomime style in order to drill structures and vocabulary throughout the performance.                            “Chicken Little” MOST IMPORTANT VOCABULARY: chicken     sky     falling    king    fox    duck   turkey   acorn (bellota) ACTIVE VOCABULARY AND STRUCTURES (production): Simple Greetings: Hello… I’m…. Hello, I’m …. Hello, everybody… Body Parts: head Animals:  Chicken, turkey, duck (Ducky), fox (Foxy)  Questions:  Why are you (verb + ing)? Why are you running? Answers: I don’t know.      We’re going to see the king. Observations: The sky is falling. Imperatives: Run! Bye bye… STRUCTURES AND VOCABULARY THAT WE PRESENT FOR RECOGNITION OR TEACH: Body parts: hands, Animal parts: feathers Questions:   Do you know the story of Chicken Little? Where are you going? It fell on your head? Who wants to be a tree? Who wants to be Chicken Little? Objects: forest, tree, sky, acorn (bellota) Adjectives: fun, Verbs: dance, sing, run, walk, fall down, jump up Shapes: circle Imperatives: hold hands, Prepositions: around, in front of, behind Songs: RING-RING O’ROSIES (TRADITIONAL) Ring a ring o’ rosies, a pocket full of posies.
